Adrienne Goodwin Obituary

Adrienne Camille Goodwin was born August 10, 1959 in Suffolk, Virginia to the late Edwin Lee Goodwin. Sr. and Jacqueline Wells Goodwin.  She was called home to be with God on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at Riverside Regional Medical Center.

A Celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday June 14, 2019 at First Gravel Hill Baptist Church, Rushmere Va. Interment will be in the Church Cemetery.  Viewing will from 5-7:00 P.M. Thursday, June 13. 2019 and One hour prior to the service at the church.

At an early age Adrienne joined First Gravel Hill Baptist Church, Rushmere and attended Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and Church along beside her siblings.  Adrienne was educated in the Isle of Wight County Public School System and graduated a year early from Smithfield High School in the class of 1976.  She was a member of the Smithfield Packers Varsity Cheering Squad which she loved with such loudness and passion .  She attended Virginia State University and majored in Business.

"Buff" as she was affectionately called by her family and friends, loved people and she let you know it with her beautiful infectious smile when she greeted you or instant scream or crying.  She never met a stranger.  Adrienne had an outgoing personality, she was fun-loving and she always made you feel special whenever you were with her. She enjoyed being the center of attention whether it be through dancing or keeping the crowd going.  She possessed a kind, sweet loving spirit which will forever be missed.  Her presence filled a room.

She preceded in death by her parents, sister Janita Rose Godwin, and aunts Ernestine Turner and Alma White.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory, two daughters, Jennifer Stringfield (Devian), Janita Goodwin, one brother, Pastor Edwin Goodwin (Vanessa), two grandchildren, Kaiden and McKinley Stringfield, four aunts, Ernestine Slade, Rebecca Armstrong, Joseph Collins Robinson (Lucy Ann), Pastor Marshal Goodwin (Barbara), Rose Wilson, Barbara Wynn, Marjorie Martin (Larry), two uncles, one niece Danielle Higgs (Godfrey) one nephew, Edwin Goodwin III( Rochelle) four great nieces and nephews, a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
