John J. Bennett Jr. aka “JB Elite”, age 40 of Dendron VA passed away unexpectedly on May 14, 2023. Born in Chester PA on December 19, 1982 to John J. Bennett Sr. and Michelle A. Bennett.
John grew up as a Military Brat and lived in Kentucky, Hawaii, North Carolina, Italy, Kansas, Texas, and Virginia where he then called home. John met a lot of people along the way, he left a lasting memorable impression and positive impact on everyone he came in contact with. While stationed in all of these locations John was able to travel to many amazing places, Italy was one of the most beautiful places he lived during his travels.
John excelled in everything he did as a child. Always finished at the top of his class, At an early age he was the head of the Safety patrol, Class President and Homecoming King. John was a very skilled student athlete that Played Soccer, Football (Quarterback), Baseball (Pitcher & 2nd base), and Karate (Black belt). He Graduated from Junction City high school class of 2001. After high school he attended Barton Community College where he studied Business Management. Recently he was working on getting his license for real estate.
While stationed at Ft. Riley KS John met and fell in love with his high school sweetheart Dawn (Himelick) Bennett. John then married, had five beautiful children, bought their first house in Dendron VA and spent 23 Amazing years together. John took on the Biggest responsibility as a parent who stayed home with his five kids, took care of the house, school, appointments, and practices. Once the kids got older John went on to work for DTA as an Equipment Operator where he learned and mastered each position.
John coached football for the Poquoson Bulls Midgets, he supported his kids who also played football and cheered for the PYFCA Organization for 13 years. John traveled for several years with his youngest son to Diamond Sports Group Tournaments, Lineman Competitions, Skill and Strength Combines, Elevate 2 days Future Top 100, PYFCO Elite, Several Camps, and with the 757 Colts.
John’s greater Love was being one of The PYFCO Commissioners and Running the Elite program. John was constantly out there getting sponsors for the kids so they could experience opportunities that only come once in a lifetime. John started designing uniforms for Elite, and helped with rewarding the kids with Rings and Chains instead of trophies. He envisioned bringing a more hip and modern Swag to PYFCO and landing them on a National level. The dedication, passion, impact, difference and how he equally cared for the kids and his communities were imperative. He also volunteered for the Virginia Duals, and helped out the homeless in the community. John definitely left his mark on this world and made it a better place.
John was a Family man and Family always came first. His kids meant the world to him, he guided, supported and stood by them in whatever they wanted to do. The morals, values, beliefs, and traditions he passed down to them will be a lasting legacy for generations to come.
Sundays were Family day where the family spent time together playing a game, watching a movie, and eating a Big dinner. John was an ultimate gamer, from PC, Playstation 5, Xbox series X, all Nintendo consoles, mobile games, spades, board games, corn hole, old school games, and really anything competitive he was always the best at it. He would buy a game and beat it literally in a day or two.
John enjoyed the summer vacations to visit family, the beach, the board walks, the rides, and board walk fries. He loved to fish, boat, tube, camp, ride ATV / Dirt bikes, shot his guns, and enjoy a nice cigar. John was hilarious and no matter the situation he would always put a smile on your face. John was very intelligent and knowledgeable, he knew what was going on in the world especially in politics and Everyday he would teach us the lesson of the day.
John was a fan of Rap music and only a few knew that he could really flow, had rhythm, and was the life of the party. The most stylish, classy, swagged out guy that loved flashy shoes, rings, watches, sun glasses, hats, clothes, and cars. The Smartest, Coolest, Realist, Loving, Caring, Funniest Kindest, Loyal, Amazing, Outstanding, Supportive, Father and Husband we were Blessed to have in our lives!
