On Monday, August 29, 2022, Alonzo Kincaid, Jr., 63, of Newport
News, entered eternal rest at Coliseum Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Alonzo Kincaid, Jr. was born on July 26, 1959, to the late Elder Longino
C. Kincaid & Lora O. Kincaid at Whittaker Memorial Hospital in
Newport News, Virginia. He was the first and eldest of five children. 
He was educated in the Newport News Public School System.
On December 16, 1977, he married Eugenia Kincaid and to this union,
one child was born, Shannon Kincaid.
Alonzo joined the United States Army on March 17, 1978, where he
honorably served his country.
Alonzo Kincaid accepted Christ and was baptized in the name of Jesus
according to Acts 2:38 at a very early age. He was a member of The Glorious Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith Inc., in Newport News, Virginia under the leadership of the late Apostle John H.
Bowser, Sr. where he served in the church as a musician. Alonzo was truly loved and appreciated by many. He never met a stranger and would welcome anyone with open arms to be a friend.
Alonzo is preceded in death by his parents; Elder Longino Kincaid and
Lora Kincaid; one brother, Larry D. Kincaid. He leaves to cherish hismemory of three siblings: Joanne Carr, Lynette Davis, and Leneena Hubbard (Fredrick). One child: Shannon Kincaid and four grandchildren: Kariah Kincaid, Ava Kincaid, Kendel Kincaid, and Alana Kincaid. Alonzo also leaves behind a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Viewing will be held from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm, Saturday, September
10, 2022, at Poole’s Funeral Chapel. The Interment and Committal service honoring the life of Alonzo Kincaid will be held 11:00 am, Monday, September 12, 2022, at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial
Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, Virginia.
