Mr. DaShawn Jefferson Obituary

On May 22, 2026, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, gently called our beloved son, grandson, brother, cousin, and friend, Dashawn L. Jefferson, home to rest. Dashawn was born on September 21, 1981, to the late Bernadette Jefferson. He was lovingly reared by his grandparents, the late Arthur and Violet Jefferson.

Dashawn was a devoted member of First Gravel Hill Baptist Church. He worked faithfully as a landscaper alongside Rev. Glenn Lyttle, Jefferson Lawn Care, and Misclear Mason. Known for his vibrant spirit, Dashawn was truly the life of the party. As a young man, he found joy in playing the drums, and he remained a die-hard Commanders fan throughout his life. He also loved to entertain—often bringing smiles and laughter as he performed and danced in the style of Lenny Williams. It was rare to see him without his signature Black & Mild in his pocket.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his four siblings: Takeisha Jefferson, Chandra Jefferson, Myron Jefferson, and Alexis Jefferson; his aunts and uncles: Harold Jefferson, Sr., Yvette Grandison (Ricky), Rudolph Jefferson (Lutherine), Jeremiah Jefferson (Deloise), Ermon Raynor (Maurice), and a special aunt, Bernita Brown; six beloved nieces and nephews: Cameron Jefferson, Cienna Jefferson, Chance Marshall, Chosen Marshall, Kingston Fields, and Khyri Fields; along with a host of loving cousins and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Bernadette Jefferson; his grandparents, Arthur and Violet Jefferson; his uncle, Arthur “Wig” Jefferson, Jr. (Maxine); and his aunt, Cheryl Warren (Anthony).

Dashawn was deeply loved by his family, friends, and community. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and light to everyone he encountered. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit will live on in the countless memories shared and the love he gave so freely. We honor his life, cherish those memories, and give thanks for the time we were blessed to have with him.
