Mr. George F. Hakes

Mr. George Frederick Hakes passed unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, July 8, 2021.

He was born in Corning, N.Y. on January 18, 1959 and grew up in Belmont N.Y.  He graduated from Breeden School of Welding in Genesee Pa.  He moved to Surry, Va. where he worked as an Iron worker and other trades.  George loved to fish and hunt.  

He was predeceased by his Mother Lois B. Williams Hakes from Elmira N.Y., Father Leon Edwin Hakes Sr. from N.Y.

George leaves to cherish his loving memories, four daughters Tina Howard of Springville N.Y., Desiree Hakes of Wellsville N.Y., Heidi Hakes and Abigail Hakes of Surry, Va. three brothers and four sisters , Rev. Gary Hakes of Dundee N.Y., Karl Hakes of Bath N.Y., Leon Hakes of Surry, Va. Sisters, Marlene Overstrom of Painted Post N.Y., Sandra Bushong of MO., Linda Jackson of Surry, Va. and Robin Hakes of Clyde N.Y.  Several grandchildren, a unborn grandchild, Aunts and Uncles, Nieces and Nephews.
