Mr. Kenneth Weeks Obituary

Kenneth Eugene Weeks, 65, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 11th, 2021. Kenny was an avid fisherman.  He loved to fish and would do it any day given the opportunity, rain, shine, storm, or snow!  Whether in a boat on the water, or casting a line from a pier or shore, he would catch them, clean them, and fry them up fresh.  He was known for his fish fries and people would come from all over to get his hot catfish fillets and corn filled hush puppies.  He had his secret, favorite batter brand and nothing else would do.  He would often go into communities and give fresh fish away when he had an abundance.  He was so generous.  He would take clothes to people that he knew were in need and help anyone with their heating and cooling needs.  He worked construction with his dad for years as a young man and worked at Smithfield Heating.

He is preceded in death by his Father and Mother, Chester, and Lucy Weeks.

He is survived by his sister Barbara Peach (Fred Peach), wife Karen Weeks, stepdaughter Trish Carey (Antwain Carey), sons Kenny Weeks (Janie Weeks), Ches Weeks (Amy Weeks), niece Jamie Lynn Drewery, nephews James and Brian Drewery and numerous other nieces and nephews, a cousin David Pearson who grew up with Kenny like a brother, Grandchildren Jordan and Shelby Powell, Mikayla, Chessa, Theo Weeks and Oliver Weeks, and a slew of cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces, and nephews.

A small service will be held in his memory on Thursday, March 18th, 2021 at 2:00PM.  Please text Jamie Drewery at 757-218-5587 to RSVP due to space limitations.  Masks will be required, and we will practice social distancing by remaining 6 feet apart during the ceremony.  Please respect this with no hugs or handshakes.  Online condolences may be registered at Poole’s Funeral Home
