Mrs. Dorothy "Nate" Rogers

Sister Dorothy “Nate” Bolton Rodgers began as a daughter, sister, nurse, wife, mother of two and more, Sister of the church, neighbor, and friend and mostly a great caregiver and mentor. Child of the late Edna and Willy James Bolton, she was born in Semora, N.C. December 2, 1929 and was called to the Lord July 12, 2021.

     Dorothy will be greeted at the Gates of God by her parents, her sisters Ailene Cunningham, Irma Bolton, her brothers James Bolton, Edward Bolton and Billy Long. Her late husband Deacon Linwood Rodgers and daughter Linda Rodgers along with extended family, Sandra and Wally Thorne and so many other friends and neighbors.

     Surviving Dorothy is her older sister Shirey Rawles of Homestead, PA., her daughter Gayle Rodgers, with her partner Rebecca Gaines, her grandchildren, Crystal Thorne and Jesus Lopez and one great granddaughter Niya Simpson.  Nate is also survived by her great aunt Theresa Hughes, her family and nephews Roderick Bolton and Carlos Bolton. Marlou Hunt has been her honorary daughter.

     A viewing will be held 5-7 PM Friday. July 23, 2021 at Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions 2609 Cunningham Dr. Hampton, Va. A graveside service will be held 12:00 Noon Saturday. July 24, 2021 at Hampton Memorial Gardens. Please keep the Rodgers in your prayers.
