Ms.Elma Delores (McCrae) Hall, affectionately known as Delores was born on December 20, 1955, in Dillon, South Carolina and has resided in Brooklyn, NY, Trenton NJ and Hampton, VA. At an early age Delores attended and graduated from the Trenton, NJ Public School system. Delores later joined the US Army where she held various positions to include recruiter, senior guidance counselor, master trainer, multiple supervisor positions which included supervising the Army Liaison Office in a Military Entrance Processing Station for 10 recruiting stations. She received many awards and accolades during her tenure in the military such as meritorious service medal, army commendation medal, army superior unit award, sharpshooter marksmanship qualification badge with rifle bar, US Army basic recruiter badge with 3 gold achievement stars and more. After 26 years of dedicated service, she retired as a Master Sergeant and continued to work in a military capacity by working at Ft. Lee and Ft. Eustis as a GS-7.
Delores gave her spare time to charity and religious organizations, and she loved to read. She loved God with all her heart and her family so much as they were the most important people in her life. Delores would do anything to help her family and dear friends.
On Saturday, July 13, 2024, Elma Delores Hall departed this life to be with her Heavenly Father and with a host of relatives who preceded her in death such as her parents, Edward McCrae and Mary Moses, brother Ezzard Charles McCrae and sister Mabel Moses. She leaves to cherish her legacy and sweet memories with, her son Aaron Dale Hall Jr (Shannel Hall) of Hampton, VA; her siblings Lefarn Muhammad (Emma Muhammad) of Hamilton, NJ, Daniel Stanley McCrae (Zaida McCrae) of Pemberton Township, NJ; three grandchildren: Aryanna Hall, Ahlani Hall and Aaron Hall III of Hampton, VA; one great grandchild Kaymion Harrell of Hampton, VA; a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, other relative and friends. She also leaves to cherish sweet memories with her dear friend for over 40 years Mattie Spann, her close friends John Williams and Klea Harper as well as Florentino (Tj) Charris whom she looked to as a son. We will miss her greatly!
A Celebration of Life service will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, July 29, 2024 at Dunamis Christian Center 6148 Jefferson Ave., Newport News Va. 23605. Viewing will Friday, July 26, 2024 at Berceuse Funeral & Cremation 2609 Cunningham Drive Hampton Va. 23666.
Burial with Military Honors will be at Albert G. Horton Memorial Veterans Cemetery 5310 Milners Rd. Suffolk Va. 23434.
