Tracy Askew-Creekmore Obituary

Tracy Askew-Creekmore, was born in Norfolk, VA on December 19, 1962 and went to be with her savior Jesus Christ on October 7, 2020. Tracy graduated from Oscar Frommel Smith High School in Chesapeake, VA in 1981. She went on to continue her studies at Norfolk State University followed by Kaplan University later in her life. While at Norfolk State, Tracy proudly served the community as a member of the Delta Sigma Theta sorority. She began working for the Defense Commissary Agency, initially hired as a cashier. Through her hard work and innate business acumen, she was promoted to Manager of the Commissary Office at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, NM and worked diligently to make it one of the best operations in the agency. Due to health problems, she was forced to retire from the DCA. A clear show of her persistent personality, this did not deter her, and she used this opportunity to establish Events to Remember, her own event planning and desktop publishing business. This served as one of her proudest achievements.

Left behind to cherish her memory are: son Triston Creekmore, daughter Taylor Askew-Creekmore, husband David. Three siblings, Carolyn Coleman (Alvin), Cynthia Hines, Benjamin Askew Jr. (Trina) and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A celebration of her life will be at 11:00 am Thursday October 15, 2020 at Mount Zion Baptist Church 900 Middlesex St. Norfolk Va.
